2010 Division III Champions

Steve Mcwhorter goes for a steal.

Jodan Fouse slams one home.

Coach Letsch and the team get the trophy

For the fifth time in 6 years the SCHS Boys Basketball Team are state champs in Division III.

This is quite an accomplishment as they lost 4 starters from last years team and had to put together 4 new starters along with Steve McWhorter. What was special about this tournament was that everyone stepped up especially Saturday, when the whole team came up big.

This shows again the great coaching ability of Coach Bob "The Legend" Letsch. To return a team to state after losing 4 starters is quite an accomplishment. Congatulations to coach Letsch and the 2010 Division III Champions the St Cats Angels Basketball Team

MADISON - Just as its female student manager did one day earlier, the St. Catherine's High School boys basketball team hit all the high notes Saturday afternoon.

One day after Kiki Hargrove sang a lovely rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner" in the Kohl Center prior to their semifinal game, the Angels won their fifth state championship in six seasons with a 66-52 victory over Eau Claire Regis. Sophomore forward Jordan Fouse had 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks for St. Catherine's, which didn't make its first appearance in this tournament until 2005, but already is tied for the third most WIAA championships.

General NewsSue Craanen just received the following email

Hi Sue: I wanted to share with you some news about a 1989 grad of St. Cat's.

My daughter, Jackie Meteyard was named Middle School Teacher of the Year in the Kenosha School System. Four years ago Jackie was titled Middle School Coach of the Year. Of course, being a Phy Ed/Health Teacher she never thought it possible to be Teacher of the Year. She was announced yesterday at a School Meeting.

Of course, Dick and I, also St. Cat's grads are so proud of her. And, we do believe her St. Catherine training was a huge instrument in Jackie's strong convictions to teaching well and making school a fun and happy experience.

Thank you to all of her teachers and staff.

Barb and Dick Meteyard
