The updates to the web site are now finished. There are a few new pictures, a few share your world updates, a new old friend (Don Seitz) and several new links to watch. I hope that all is well with everyone.

We hope that the Still Crazy Crew have a great time with their upcoming golf outing. It sound as though the tour get bigger every time they meet.

There are several things that we would like to add the next time we do an update. I remember a Social group in our class called Tap-A-Keg-A Day! If anyone has a picture of one of their gatherings we would like to add it. Also we are still looking for a picture of the Remie's Rats ball team.

For those that have not bookmarked the web site - here is the link again. Enjoy!!!

ALL-RACINE COUNTY BOYS BASKETBALL COACH OF THE YEAR: Another title, another honor for Letsch

General News

If you want to play for Bob Letsch, you’d better have thick skin.

You’d better not easily get hurt feelings and you’d better not pout because that’s not going to wash with the All-Racine County Coach of the Year in boys basketball.

But if you understand from the get-go that there’s a method behind Letsch’s rages and that nothing is ever meant personally, then you’re going to get something out of playing for the long-time St. Catherine’s coach. Something substantial.

Devron Bostick's intensity carries over to Gophers bench in Big Ten tournament victory

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
General NewsINDIANAPOLIS — After failing to get off the bench in the last two regular-season games, Devron Bostick was wondering what he did wrong.

Tubby Smith explained it to him but also admitted Bostick should have gotten some playing time. The Gophers coach realized that even more Thursday after the junior guard's 11-point performance in the first half of Minnesota's 66-53 Big Ten Conference tournament victory over Northwestern.

"I sort of told (Bostick) it was my mistake," Smith said. "He's a guy that feeds off his offense. And I need him to be more defensive-minded. And he's starting to understand that."

Minnesota's reserves, led by Bostick, outscored Northwestern single-handedly while using a 27-0 advantage in bench points to take a 31-25 halftime lead.

Bostick, last season's national junior college player of the year at Southwestern Illinois College, hadn't scored in double figures in 13 consecutive games.

"I really just came out with the intensity, trying to help and do everything I could on defense; it was just coming to me offensively," said the 6-foot-5 Racine, Wis., native.

A Bostick three-pointer ignited a 16-0 run, and his one-handed dunk capped it to give Minnesota a 22-8 lead.

Congratulations to the Boys Basketballl team and Coach Bob Letsch on their huge win for the state title. As there was much written by writers much better than I. I will be linking you to a number of articles about the team and Coach Letsch.

Letsch continues legacy with Angels title win

Sisters Maryann McMahon, Agnes Johnson and Sharon Simon circled the gold basketball that sat in front of a podium Tuesday in the John Foster auditorium at St. Catherine’s High School, 1200 Park Ave.

The three leaders of the Racine Dominicans wanted to get a closer look at the trophy the Angels boys basketball team brought home over the weekend. This is their school and they are proud of what the boys accomplished.

They prayed and cheered on Saturday as they listened to the WIAA Division 3 championship game from Madison where the Angels won their fourth state title in five years.

We're proud of both teams

Racine was denied its storybook ending at the state basketball championships last weekend.

We had hoped for twin trophies — it would have marked only the second time in WIAA boys state basketball championship history that teams from one city had collected two titles.

But it was not to be.
